Welcome to the PREMIERE of our brand new custom bottomfish jig called the Salt Bug Jig. These jigs are all around great jigs for all species of bottomfish and they work especially well for Black Sea Bass. We tested these jigs all last year during the Fall and Winter Sea Bass season and they all worked very well. Our jig creates a unique “striding” action on the slow retrieve, making it irresistible for aggressive fish. Drop the jig to the bottom, then slowly retrieve up through the water column about 50 feet. If you don’t get any bites, drop back to the bottom and repeat. When you feel bites, DO NOT SET THE HOOK. Just keep reeling and allow the fish to hook themselves. Our fishing system with this jig allows you to use them without any bait at all. In doing so, you're able to avoid those pesky dogfish but, at the same time, target bigger sea bass consistently.
